    Legislative History of Laws

    Law 11-144, the "Contribution Limitation Initiative Amendment Act of 1996," was introduced in Council and Assigned Bill No. 11-427, which was referred to the Committee on Government Operations. The Bill was adopted on first and second readings on March 5, 1996, and April 2, 1996, respectively. Signed by the Mayor on April 18, 1996, it was assigned Act No. 11-261 and transmitted to both Houses of Congress for its review. D.C. Law 11-144 became effective on June 13, 1996.

    Miscellaneous Notes

    Applicability of chapter to Law 11-144: Section 4 of D.C. Law 11-144, the Contribution Limitation Initiative Amendment Act of 1996, provided that D.C. Code § 1-1101.01 et seq. shall apply to the act. D.C. Law 11-144 repeals § 1- 1104.01 and amends §§ 1-1131.01, 1-1131.03, and 1-1104.02.
