Effect of Amendments

D.C. Law 14-137, in subsec. (b), substituted "7" for "5"; in subsecs. (b)(4) and (b)(5), made nonsubstantive changes; and added subsecs. (b)(6) and (b)(7).

D.C. Law 15-354, in subsec. (b), inserted ''District" preceding "Department of Transportation".

D.C. Law 16-191 validated a previously made technical change in the directory language of D.C. Law 15-534.

Law 14-137, the "Department of Transportation Establishment Act of 2002", was introduced in Council and assigned Bill No. 14-343, which was referred to the Committee on Public Works and the Environment.  The Bill was adopted on first and second readings on February 19, 2002, and March 5, 2002, respectively. Signed by the Mayor on March 26, 2002, it was assigned Act No. 14-313 and transmitted to both Houses of Congress for its review.   D.C. Law 14-137 became effective on May 21, 2002.

Law 15-354, the "Technical Amendments Act of 2004", was introduced in Council and assigned Bill No. 15-1130 which was referred to the Committee of the Whole.  The Bill was adopted on first and second readings on December 7, 2004, and December 21, 2004, respectively.   Signed by the Mayor on February 9, 2005, it was assigned Act No. 15-770 and transmitted to both Houses of Congress for its review.  D.C. Law 15-354 became effective on April 13, 2005.
