Law 12-82, the "Chief Procurement Officer Qualification Amendment Act of 1997," was introduced in Council and assigned Bill No. 12-366, which was referred to the Committee on Government Operations. The Bill was adopted on first and second readings on November 4, 1997, and December 16, 1997, respectively. Signed by the Mayor on January 8, 1998, it was assigned Act No. 12-249 and transmitted to both Houses of Congress for its review. D.C. Law 12-82 became effective on March 24, 1998.
